For IPTV EPG setup in 2027, first identify whether your problem is an empty guide, the wrong programme on a channel or a schedule shifted by a consistent amount. Then check the guide source, channel mapping and time settings for the player you use. Those symptoms call for different questions.
Understand the guide's job
An electronic programme guide is schedule information associated with channels. In the XMLTV format specification, channels have identifiers and programme entries refer to a channel. Dates can carry a time-zone offset. That explains why a guide source must match the channel list and why time interpretation matters.
A working stream and an empty schedule should be reported as separate observations. The setup overview helps distinguish the service login from the player and guide; Help can use your actual player name to identify the relevant setup instructions.
Start with the supplied source
Identify how the service says the guide is supplied for your account format. If it provides a separate address, keep it private and compare it exactly with the address entered in the app. If the guide is part of an account login, ask whether another source should be added before duplicating anything.
Use the player's current documentation for its refresh command and supported format. Do not substitute a guide address found in an unrelated tutorial. Record the time of the last successful refresh when the app shows one.
Put the guide to use.
Check guide behaviour during a trial; report the player and exact channel before renewing around an unresolved guide issue.
Match the symptom to the next question
| Observation | Useful next question |
|---|---|
| All guide rows empty | Is the intended source accepted and loading in this player? |
| Only a few rows empty | Are those exact channel identifiers covered and mapped? |
| Wrong programme on one channel | Is that row linked to the correct feed? |
| Schedules consistently early or late | How do the device and player interpret time zones? |
| Old programmes remain | When did the guide last refresh successfully? |
Check time without stacking adjustments
Compare the device's displayed local time with the time you intend to use. Then read the player's time-zone or offset instructions. XMLTV can include an offset in programme timestamps, so adding an extra correction without understanding the source can make the diagnosis harder. Record the original setting before any documented change.
Choose one affected row and one row that appears correct. Note the displayed programme and time for each, plus the guide's last update if shown. That comparison helps you ask whether the issue is a single mapping or a wider time interpretation. If only one row is wrong, preserve its exact channel label in the report; similarly named regional feeds should not be treated as the same row without checking.
Send a precise guide report
Provide the device, player version, channel name, expected programme, displayed programme and local time. Hide account addresses in screenshots. During the 24-hour trial, include guide readability and a few important channels in your checks. Use the broader 2027 checklist to decide whether the whole setup meets your viewing routine.
