Need setup help?

Test your replacement viewing setup before cancelling cable. Make the decision around the programmes and household routines you need, then check the existing provider's cancellation and equipment-return terms. There is no universal switch date or guaranteed saving.

This 2027 transition checklist keeps the viewing decision separate from the account cancellation. Use How It Works to understand the 8KTV process while you collect your own cable account details.

Record what cable currently supplies

Write down the channels and functions your household actually uses. Include local news, accessibility settings, scheduled recordings and the television in a second room. Mark which needs are essential and which can be dropped.

Read your bill for bundled internet, equipment charges and promotional terms. Ask the existing provider what changes if television is removed, whether a notice period applies and which devices must be returned. Use their answer for your account, rather than a generic cancellation script.

Test a replacement in stages

  1. Confirm a supported player for the main television through device help.
  2. Request the 24-hour no-card trial, allowing up to four hours for human preparation.
  3. Watch your essential available programmes at your usual hours.
  4. Check remote use, audio, captions and guide time with everyone who needs them.
  5. Resolve missing items and rights questions before making the cancellation decision.

A successful film test does not answer whether a specific future sporting event will be available. Check the event and authorised viewing options separately.

Count simultaneous use

One 8KTV connection allows one concurrent screen. You can choose which device to use, but two people watching different programmes at the same time need two connections. Make that household choice before comparing totals on the pricing page.

Also include any separate player fee and the subscriptions you intend to retain. A credible transition budget uses the actual combined cost after the cable bundle changes. Do not assume removing television leaves your internet charge unchanged.

Finish the account work deliberately

After the viewing plan is acceptable, follow the existing provider's cancellation process and retain its confirmation. Record return deadlines, equipment identifiers and any return receipt. Remove a recurring calendar reminder only after the provider confirms the account outcome.

If your household already uses 8KTV and only needs more time, renew the existing credentials instead of repeating setup. There is no automatic renewal. Keep your viewing checklist so each later subscription decision reflects what the household still needs.
